We can't afford the payments. The property taxes and homeowners insurance were paid out of the escrow account. Both of those were much higher than anyone predicted. Even though we were paying extra each month, it wasn't enough to make up the shortage. We notified Citimortgage of my husband's job loss in January and they raised our payments by $400 in March. Up until then we were current. They refused to lower the payments or help us in any way what so ever. They'd rather foreclose. They can have this house and it will sit empty for a long time...pre-existing homes aren't selling in this area right now. Too many incentives to buy new construction.

trying to pay the arrearage over 6 months.

We waited to file until
November 3rd because we were hoping to work out some
sort of deal with
our mortgage company to save our house but they
refused to work with us
(Citimortgage SUCKS!) (Sorry, a little immature of me
but that felt
good!) So we filed on 11/3, the 341 is tomorrow and
all our debt should
be discharged around February 12th.
