Don't be intimidated by bankruptcy, my wife and I just went through chap
13 proceedings and it was painless. The expense of it was a bit much,
$1500 for my attorney, but that too was added into a payment plan. My
wife has become disabled so our income was reduced by 50%. Short of
losing everything that we've worked very hard for we decided to take
this route, and glad we did. Now we can sleep at night knowing that
everyone is being paid, less the interest of course, but they're being
paid. I feel fortunate that my payment is only $317/month, a low
dividend plan, with tax verbage, but they can have my tax returns for 3
years, that will only get me out sooner. In the final analysis,
bankruptcy was a life saver for us!!
