That sounds like a long time in my opinion. My experience with the
lawyer went like this. We met, we paid our fee that day, he got all
our info. The next day our paperwork was ready to be signed, we
went in and signed. The next day he filed. Turnaround time was two
days, and two days after that I got copies of all our filings and he
said to expect a letter on the hearing in a week or so. This is in
Texas and maybe it differs from state to state or lawyer to lawyer,
but I was really shocked the process was so quick.

I'd keep at this lawyer especially since you've paid already. Seems
like a long time to me. I'm not expert though. Good luck to you.
