Not stupid questions at all, Holly. Try calling again tomorrow and see what happens. Explain that you were getting worried since you hadn't heard from him and see what he has to say. I don't know if you'll be able to get your money back or not but give him one more chance. I know my attorney usually takes a day or two to call me back after I've left a message. I also know that she's up to her eyeballs in cases. She tends to get a bunch of cases prepared and file them all at once so that might be the case for you.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Ok, i need some advice as to how i should proceed...

I have paid my lawyer his fee in full (made in 2 payments), and have
also dropped off all the paperwork he requested. this was on the
29th of August. he told me it would take about a week to get
everything together for me to come in and sign the documents etc. I
even faxed over a bank statement the next day, giving him my home,
work, and cell #'s to contact me in case he needed anything else.
Well, i haven't heard a word from him since the 29th. I have been
busy with work, and was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt
(and i also knew i had to figure out when i was going to file
considering i have a trip out of town scheduled for the end of Oct,
and was hoping to avoid the 341 being scheduled for that day). I
have the M/O receipts to show that i paid him in full, but i'm
getting extremely nervous as to why he hasn't contacted me to come
in yet.

so my question is...is this normal? Is it normal to be taking this
long to have me come back in? I mean, he told me he was backed up
with other clients, but this is a bit much. so i'm very worried
right now, and plan on calling the office tomorrow. I just don't
really need any added stress right now, and was trying to avoid any
kind of situation with the lawyer, considering he's supposed to be
helping me make the stress go away in the first place.

and if i don't get anywhere with the call tomorrow...can i ask for
my $$ and documents back, and actually GET both back? i'm sorry if
these are stupid questions, but i'm going through this whole thing
alone, and i'm more then a little nervous.

Holly
