There's no other way out of this than bankruptcy? I feel bad for you since it's only two credit cards and your credit is so good right now. It seems a shame to throw all that away for two cards. In our case, we were in so deep when my husband had a salary reduction and was eventually laid off...it was easy to throw in the towel. Have you consulted with an attorney? Or two? Most offer free consultations and they may know of a way to help you without having to file. In the mean time, I'll cross my fingers that a job comes along for you.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hey,

High paid tech guy laid off three times last year and been unemployed
for 9 months now. Can't find anything in my field and I keep lowering
my standards.

Went thru a divorce and got hit with paying a credit card.

I've got excellent credit. Many loans and cards. All paid off.
Nothing late, etc etc. Loaners love me. I ask and I get. Thats why
this situations sucks. It's not my fault either. I'm quite good
with money. (don't laugh)

I have only 2 cards. One thats up to it's limit and another with
zero on it that I would like to keep thru the bankruptcy.

The 2 cards are really high and I can't pay it. period. Only if I
had one of my really good jobs like last year could I consider it.
I'm jobless now and I've got payments coming up. I've used up my
emergency fund and now the water is coming up over the sandbags.

I'm considering file chapter 7 to get rid of my debt. I hate to ruin
a good thing but I'm toast if I don't do it soon. I should have a
good Visa when all is done. As of right now I'm good. Nothing is
late and everyone loves me. This will change dramatically in the
next 14-60 days!

Any advice? I have more questions but I'll save them for a later
post. Looks like a very active group. Thanks in advance.
