Re: Ch.7 Keeping a credit card. Questions

When you file a chapter seven, you'll most likely be advised not to use any credit cards for at least 90 days. And you have to list all debt. You can't choose to leave off one card because you want to keep it after the bankruptcy. You can list it and reaffirm that debt but if a card has a balance, you have to include it in your bankruptcy. Also, I've heard from many people who've tried to keep a credit card after bankruptcy, only to have it cancelled when the credit card company found out about the bankruptcy. They periodically do a soft inquiry into your credit, see that you've filed bankruptcy and cancel your account. I think you can make arrangements with them in advance to keep the card after bankruptcy but they'll probably raise your rates. Hope that helps!

May I USE that card before or during? All my debt will be on 2
others cards and should be completely wiped out. Anyone?
