Protecting your property

I've heard that a self-employed person may form a corporation, then
transfer the ownship (say a vehicle or even a RV) to the
corporation. And that will give some basic protection.

Then I heard that a dummy company needs to be formed and that
company place a lien on that property that is owned by the
corporation. This is supposed to give total protection of your
property.

Is this right? How does someone place a lien on the property?
