I totally disagree. If she actually did lose the money gambling (and
you have the credit card statments to show it) I don't think it will
be a problem at all. Bankruptcy is for whatever reason you got to
where you are, just ask the good old folks at Enron otr the hundres
of other corporations who a defrauding Americans out of their life
saving. If you have usenet, a much much better place to discuss
bankruptcy is alt.bankruptcy. You can also to to www.google.com and
do a search on "bankruptcy" and click on "groups" you'll see
alt.bankruptcy there too.

attorney, creditors and trustee will see that it's debt accumulated
from gambling. They may dismiss her case. Bankruptcy is for people
who are in financial trouble usually from illness, death in the
family, job loss, etc. Granted, people make unwise choices with
their credit cards, get themselves into a hole they can't dig back
out of and then file but come on! She got that far in debt because
of a trip gambling in Vegas? That's what gives people who file
bankruptcy a bad name. That's what makes the whole process so
shameful. Anyway, enough of the lecture. Get a free consultation
with an attorney. I suspect though that they'll tell you the same
thing. Good luck and I'm so sorry for the mess she's created for the
both of you.
